I used Photoshop to design a mock up of a hypothetical Instagram account for NICE that would grasp the gist of the concepts. I began with recreating the outline of Instagram from the iPhone app perspective. I gathered samples from someone else’s account to recapture the basic elements of Instagram in order to create a template for the account. Additionally, I changed the profile picture and the name of the account to appear to belong to NICE. I gathered some photos together from the NICE website to be used in the example I have constructed. In one photo Dr. Gatluak Thach, President and CEO of NICE, is excepting a donation for the company. Moments like that and even little moments when someone is smiling in the NICE office should be uploaded one to two times a week for the best audience response. It is also important to assure that photos and layouts are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I carefully selected the images that had artistic appeal to them.

With each of the photos uploaded, comes a caption or short description piece that accompanies it. These quick bits of writing seem trivial but actually emit a large deal of information. You can provide a photo of basically anything but the caption needs to tie it together. However, this is easy to do so because can use any form of writing style or strategy. For example, with the picture mentioned I would put a caption that reads, “Truly blessed and thankful to have those out there that still believe in helping and supporting others in need. The families that get reunited because of this donation will never forget it!” These are perfect opportunities to apply pathos because they truly are full of emotion and because you can see it in the photo, the text amplifies it.

Another photo I put into the mock up Instagram was one of myself participating in an airport arrival of a refugee reuniting with his sister and brother from many years of separation. It is a group photo of the refugee and his family, myself, and another supporting classmate. This is another prime example of a worthy post. This sort of post would engage audiences and show how one little act of kindness is a form of involvement. I believe that it sparks interest for people to want to experience one of these welcoming parties. I know that when I was there I had no idea what to expect but I felt truly happy to see a family get reunited like that. I can’t imagine the toll it has taken on these people to go through so much distress. I experienced a great deal of pride and joy welcoming that man into our country where he can begin a new life.
