Final Project
Your final project for this course will be a 2000-2500 word paper. This paper can take a variety of forms, and we will be meeting individually to discuss your topic.
Consider these options:
- Take a current event or major speech from an orator of eloquence and conduct a rhetorical analysis using some of the theoretical ideas we have discussed throughout the semester.
- Make the case for including a major thinker or speaker into the canon of rhetoric, comparing or differentiating his or her ideas to those you have encountered this semester.
- Write a rhetorical history that explores the contextual situation surrounding the composition of a literary or theoretical work of your choice.
Each of these options rely on a different kind of research methodology, so it is imperative that we meet to discuss your specific idea for this project.
